Monumental Descripción This route is part of the mining activity that took place in Aldea Moret during a century and with it the revival of Caceres. This route places Cáceres at the beginning of the Industrial Revolution with the discovery of the phosphate mineral and the influence of Segismundo Moret y Prendergast that brought the city back to life. Thanks to the mining industry, at the beginning of the 20th century, the railway and electric lighting arrived in Cáceres. Modern urbanism took hold in this small mining village and from it was exported to the development of the city. With this itinerary we will get to know the industrial heritage of Aldea Moret, its buildings and facilities such as the Embarcadero Building and Garage 2.0, rehabilitated facilities. The mining town, which dates back to 1880, already had a school and a church (San Benito), with streets organised in an orthogonal pattern and gardens inside the blocks. Facilities such as the Malacate, the remains of the network of galleries and the Mines of San Salvador, the Esmeralda and the Abundancia where today you can visit the Interpretation Centre of Mining in Extremadura.
