Cáceres Bird Watching

Cáceres Bird Watching

The municipality of Cáceres is home to three Special Protection Areas for Birds: Llanos de Cáceres and Sierra de Fuentes SPA, Sierra de San Pedro and Lesser Kestrel Colony in the Monumental City of Cáceres, making the city a preferred destination for ornithological tourism or Birdwatching.
The historic city itself is the habitat of numerous species. Walking along its quiet streets, on the towers of its walls and palaces or among the vegetation of its parks and gardens, we will discover a large and varied community of birds, easy to observe and of great beauty, anything from slender white storks to little acrobatic kestrels.
Surrounded by protected areas, forests, meadows and traditional farming areas, it is one of the few cities of its size that still attracts numerous species of "countryside" to its parks and outskirts, among which many birds of prey and some very interesting steppe species stand out.
Below you can consult all the tourist resources Cáceres offers for bird watching.
