Monumental Descripción This route takes us through "el Adarve", the inner path that circles the walled enclosure. This route was already used in its time for strategic movements for the defense of the town. Its original layout dates from the Roman foundation and is exceptionally preserved. Along the walk you can visit the Arco de la Estrella, which is the main entrance from the Plaza Mayor to the intramural enclosure, the Palace of the Episcopal see s.XVI, Palacio de Moctezuma of the S. XVI-S.XVII where It houses the Provincial Historical Archive, the surroundings of the Old Jewish Quarter, the Palace of Pereros from the Renaissance period, Puerta de Mérida, Hospital de los Caballeros 15th century Gothic, Arco de Santa Ana and Palacio de la Generala 15th-16th century among other emblematic palaces and squares.
