Natural Descripción Special Bird Protection Zone The Llanos de Cáceres, with an average altitude of 425 m, represent the most characteristic of the relief of the Trujillano-Cacereña Penillanura. The current representative ecosystem is a pseudostepe with dry pastures and cereal crops, with an almost total absence of arboreal vegetation as a result of human activity. Its purpose was the use of these lands with the famous merino wool cattle. The ornithological wealth of the city of Cáceres represents another attraction for our visitors and tourists, who are always surprised by the spectacular towers full of stork nests, the lesser kestrels hovering in the sky or the loud flocks of common swifts flying over streets and plazas. The birdlife of the area is very valuable, highlighting the steppe birds that need open spaces without obstacles, where they move from one side to the other according to the times of the year. Special mention should be made of the bustard population present in the Llanos, the largest in the world. Assessment: 0No votes yet
