Monumental Descripción This route places us in the heart of the city of Cáceres and the axis of urban expansion from the Middle Ages to the present day. The Plaza Mayor of Cáceres plays an important role in the economic and social development of the city. It is the place where the paths of history run through day to day, Easter processions, the Town Hall, festivals and celebrations are all grouped together in this unique public space. In this itinerary we can get to know the architecture and the most representative elements of the history of our city. The city wall, where the building elements of the Roman, Almohad and Christian periods are differentiated, the towers, the Baroque style Hermitage of Peace and the arcades of the Square where part of the social and commercial life of the city is concentrated.
