How to get around?
How to get around?
The best way to discover Cáceres is by strolling through the city, which will allow visitors to fully immerse themselves in its history and in its valuable artistic and cultural heritage. The Monumental City gives maximum preference to the pedestrian use and traffic is restricted to residents and authorised vehicles. Numerous pedestrian streets connect the historical centre with the main thoroughfares, which facilitates access from all points of the city. There are different parking areas in the city that simplify access for visitors: On Avenida de España (or Paseo de Cánovas) is the Avenida de España car park, very central, 10 minutes from the historic centre. It is private. The Obispo Galarza car park is very close to the Plaza Mayor as is the Parking Don Manuel located at 11 Margallo Street. Outside there is free parking space for buses. In the Parque del Príncipe there is a free outdoor car park. The Reception Centre in the Valhondo Building, close to the Plaza Mayor, has a large capacity for buses, caravans, cars, as well as including a municipal hostel and other facilities. The public transport system allows the connection with the points of interest located on the fringe of the city.
