Monumental Descripción This route takes us, from the 16th to the 20th century, to the area outside the walls of Cáceres where there is a clear difference between the spaces inside and outside the walls. This route places us in a period of demographic and urban expansion where the Plaza Mayor is consolidated as the central place of economic and social life. The route starts from the Town Hall, passing by the singular buildings of the Palace of Godoy in Renaissance style and where its corner balcony from the 16th century stands out, the chapel of the Infirmary of San Pedro de Alcántara from 1765 stands out because of its strong baroque style, unique in Cáceres. We continue through the Provincial Court of 1790, the Palace of the Dukes of Abrantes, the Church of Santo Domingo, the Palace of Galarza with its Plateresque decoration, the popular Calle Pintores, the Plaza de San Juan and the Gran Teatro, to finish in the urban development of Cáceres at the beginning of the 20th century, where the Paseo de Cánovas and the Chalet de los Málaga, based on contemporary architecture, stand out.
