It is located in the eastern part of the intramural enclosure, bordering the wall. It is larger than the New Jewish Quarter and has preserved an aesthetic of traditional housing--one-storey houses with whitewashed walls, disorganized alleyways, and large brick chimneys.
The neighbourhood adapts to the unevenness of the terrain, so there are steep slopes concealed by parapets that give it the popular name of Barrio de la Quebrada, or the “fractured neighbourhood,” with the hermitage of San Antonio standing out, located on the site of the old synagogue.
Recommendations: Very close to the hermitage is the “Baluarte de los Pozos” Tourist Centre, which can be accessed through a house attached to the wall, where you can see an exhibition of the Jewish Quarters of Extremadura and Portugal, and also visit the garden and the Los Pozos Tower(Tower of the Wells).
