In 1964, an order of the civil Governor, allowed the neighborhood to use it; something that did not happen with the others, closed for being contaminated. At present, people from Cáceres continue to go to it to obtain water, since it has high quality due to its siliceous nature (it comes from the infiltration in the quartzites of La Montaña), as well as diuretic properties. At the end of the 90s it was restored by the workshops of the U. P., and has undergone a recent intervention in 2004 (Urban-Calerizo Project). In its surroundings, Cacerean legends were set that were framed by the fountain, the arch-aqueduct (already destroyed) and the alley of the “Mansaborá”.
