
Its name refers to its original function, at first, the building was a stable that was transformed to house the Section of Fine Arts of the Museum of Cáceres.
It is divided into three rooms: the first is dedicated to Spanish art of the s. XX and we can find artworks from different movements: surrealism, pop art, social criticism, etc., highlighting artworks of Picasso, Miró, Tapies or Juan Barjola.
The second room is usually used for temporary exhibitions, while the third is dedicated to medieval and modern art that would end from the s. XIV to XIX, of different themes although religious art predominates, we can also find examples of manners or the landscape. Among the artworks on display, the painting called "Jesus el Salvador" by Domenico Theotocopuli "el Greco" which comes from the Monastery of the Agustinas Recoletas of Serradilla.
