The building that currently houses the Cáceres Town Hall was made by the architect, Ignacio María de Michelena, in the Neoclassical style, beginning the work in 1867 and finishing it two years later, in 1869.
Elevated on a staircase, it presides over the Main Square. On the façade, the portico atrium with five semi-circular arches stands out. Above is the main floor with a balcony supported by corbels, where the Plenary Hall is located. The building is crowned with the city's coat of arms and a balustrade with a broken pediment in the centre, holding a clock.
