
The Museum of Contemporary Art Helga de Alvear Museum houses one of the most important international contemporary art collections in Europe
The Helga de Alvear Collection, with more than 3,000 works by artists such as Goya, Olafur Eliasson Picasso, Louise Bourgeois, Kandinsky, Helena Almeida or Ai Weiwei. In February 2021, the new building designed by Emilio Tuñón and his team was inaugurated, a project that has won international architecture awards and offers visitors an oasis of contrasts and modernity in a respectful balance with the historic center of the city. In addition, the Museum has a second building where it is possible to enjoy temporary exhibitions, which change every few months. Access to the museum is free of charge and the institution a program of activities, visits and creative workshops for all audiences.
