This sixteenth-century building is a reconstruction over another existing fifteenth-century structure. The work was commissioned by Francisco de Solís of the master stonemason, Pedro Gomez.
The concentration of decorative elements in one of the corners of the façade gives us an idea of the great extension. One of them is the Solís family crest, composed of a sun with a human face and eight rays bitten by serpent heads. Other elements are: the helmet, the semi-cylindrical gatehouse, the portal in a semi-circular arch, and the alfiz that frames everything.
It is currently inhabited by a religious order-- the Fathers of the Precious Blood--and it is the seat of the Gaspar del Búfalo Foundation.
Recommendations: To the left of the main door, you can see an inscription on an ashlar with the letters corresponding to cemetery, since this area was one of the borders of the cemetery in the upper part of the city.
