Very close to the Church of San Mateo, this house preserves a fifteenth-century Gothic façade made of granite ashlar. The portal is harmoniously beautiful, with a Roman arch and voussoirs all the way to the ground . In the upper part, there is a beautiful window framed with double columns and a Gothic finish on the lintel. On either side of the window are the shields of Ulloa and Carvajal.
Diego García de Ulloa “El Rico” (The Rich) was a very important figure in Cáceres, as he was the founder of the Monastery of San Francisco and had the honour of handing over the keys of the city to Queen Isabella the Catholic when she came to Cáceres in the year 1477.
Recommendations: The house has been the setting of different cinematic scenes, like La Lozana Andaluza.
