The beaterio, founded in the fifteenth century, was later converted into a convent
The beaterio, founded in the fifteenth century, was later converted into a convent. It is located in the highest point of the city, very close to the Church of Saint Matthew. The building that stands out among the convent complex is the church that follows Gothic models on its portal.
Inside, the altarpiece with a clear Churrigueresque influence contains a set of sculptures dedicated to the conversion of Saint Paul.
In its beginnings, it was ruled by nuns of the Tertiary Franciscan Order, but from the middle of the 20th century, there have also been Clarissine nuns.
