Cáceres Gastronomic Capital
Awarded the Spanish Capital of Gastronomy in 2015, Cáceres is the best place to enjoy the culinary excellence of Extremadura food. They have been centuries of cultural coalescence together with a quality cuisine based on exquisite products of our land. Eight designations of origin and two protected geographical indications come together in the province of Cáceres, which have contributed to the prestige of our restaurants at a national and international level.
In the words of the Caceres poet Diego Doncel "...while one sees the movements of the moon over the wall and the Renaissance palaces, and tastes the Torta del Casar, the partridge in the Alcántara way, the mojo de tencas de Brozas (Brozas’s tench) and accompanies the biscuit of figs with a red local wine (vino de la tierra)... Because in Caceres beauty begins with the palate".
Enjoy Cáceres; it is a monumental environment full of aromas and flavour.
