In this square you will find the Casa and Torre de las Cigüeñas and the small church belonging to the convent.
Today the convent belongs to the order of Santa Clara. The nuns of this convent make delicious typical sweets that can be obtained inside. In this square, two monuments are worth mentioning, La Casa and Torre de las Cigüeñas, whose tower is much higher than the rest of the palaces in the monumental complex, due to the fact that when Queen Isabel the Catholic ordered the towers in Cáceres to be demolished, made an exception with this one which was then being built by order of Captain Diego de Ovando, vassal and member of his Royal Council at the end of the 15th century, and the convent of the Clarisian nuns which was built in the same century, we can highlight its Gothic style, although on the cover its belfry belongs to the 13th century. The doorway has a pointed arch and archivolts, as well as different decorations with volutes. We also find that the belfry is crowned with a stone cross. The floor of the convent is a Latin cross and has five altars. At present the convent belongs to the order of Santa Clara and its nuns.
