The collection of the Municipal Historical Archive of Cáceres is made up of documents generated by the City Council throughout history, from the 13th century to 1950. At the same time, it carries out other types of activities throughout the year such as the temporary exhibition of the "document of the month" or the organisation of exhibitions of documents. Guided visits of cultural interest are also organised to the Municipal Archive by groups of citizens or student groups who wish to learn more about the city's documentary heritage.
The Municipal Historical Archive is freely accessible to researchers.
