Birdwatching
This exotic, multicoloured bird is common around Cáceres, where several colonies dig out their tunnel nests in earth or sand banks beside waterways or even quarries. It can often be seen flying in groups over the city or its outskirts, and huge pre-migration flocks build up in the nearby Valdesalor reservoir.
