In this central space there are two significant elements; one is the pillar of San Francisco and another is the statue of the Goddess Ceres.
- The pillar of San Francisco is a trough where cattle drank. It is Plateresque from the 16th century, built in the times of Felipe II.
It consists of three parts; two of its parts that are the coat of arms of Cáceres and in the center is the coat of arms of the Catholic Monarchs.
- Of the Catholic Monarchs: quartered shield. In the 1st and 4th barracks you can see the kingdom of Castilla y León represented and in the 2nd and 3rd barracks the kingdom of Aragon and Catalonia is represented and finally if we look at the lower part of this shield we see a grenade that represents the Kingdom of Granada and crowned with a crown.
- Blazon of the city of Cáceres: split shield. The part on the left is a castle that represents the arms of Castile and on the right a rampant lion that represents the arms of León. Above these shields, you can see an inscription about the circumstances of its construction.
It has not always been here, before 1970 it was on the San Francisco bridge located on the outskirts of the monumental city.
- The Androgynous Genius Statue, popularly known as "Goddess Ceres", is Roman from the 1st century. This statue represents man and woman. Her clothes are very detailed and in her left hand she holds the horn of plenty, we can see her back, which is not detailed, since her main placement was in a place where she was not going to see the reverse. This statue is not the original, it is a replica since the original is in the museum of Cáceres.
