Located on Avenida de España, the house known as Los Picos is the work of Ángel Pérez Rodríguez
a municipal architect from La Rioja but working in Cáceres, who was the designer of numerous buildings and monuments in the city, many of them eclectic in style and a little raionalistic, such as this building or the Norba cinema, which has been demolished, but was once adjacent to the House of Los Picos.
Built in 1939, it was a great novelty in the urban and architectural context of Cáceres, both for the configuration of its zigzag façade and for the trapezoidal shape of the property. It is important to emphasize the use of innovative materials, since it was one of the first of the city’s buildings to use concrete.
Recommendations: It is very close to Avenida Virgen de la Montaña, where there is a wide range of restaurants, tapas bars, and cinemas.
