
Cáceres is 2.5 hours from Madrid and Lisbon. Nearby cities with monuments declared World Heritage are Mérida and Guadalupe and, nearby, Salamanca (215 Km), Ávila (230 Km) and Toledo (265 Km). Trujillo (47 Km) and Seville (270 Km) are two nearby tourist cities.
Cáceres is communicated by the A-66 (old Roman “Vía de la Plata”) with Hervás, Plasencia and with Mérida, Almendralejo, Zafra, Fuente de Cantos and Monesterio.
The A-58 connects the city, passing through Trujillo, with Madrid and the Portuguese capital, linking with Badajoz or Merida. It is also connected with Portugal, through Valencia de Alcántara, by the N-521.
From Ciudad Real, access is via the N-430, through Fuenlabrada de los Montes, in the direction of Don Benito and Mérida.
The city has direct train connections with Madrid and Seville, as well as with the nearby cities of Mérida, Plasencia, and Badajoz.
There are also numerous intercity bus lines that depart from or stop in Cáceres and allow connection with Spain and the province.
